Holdfast Shores
Glenelg South Australia
60 Berth Boat Basin

The Holdfast Shores Consortium of which Baulderstone-Hornibrook were a lead member, was responsible for the Holdfast Shores Development in Glenelg, South Australia.

This involved the construction of a 60 berth boat basin for which Steelcom supplied LX32 sheet pile to form a hard vertical face.

The boat basin bed level is at RL –6.0 AHD and the adjoining building levels at RL 3.0 ADH, which was achieved using sheet-piles that were also incorporated into the adjoining buildings’ basement structures.

The sheet-piling solution provided the physical “traditional dock” look the architects desired. The sheet-piling solution also assisted to preserve precious land when compared to battered slop with rock revetment.
