Cronulla
New South Wales
Sea wall remediation.
Piletech, now known as SFL / Piletech
after a business merger making the
combined group one of the larger piling
companies in Australia, have won a
significant portion of the Cronulla seawall
remediation project at Cronulla Beach.
The project presents a number of significant
project management challenges including
difficult site access, public access
management, environmental impacts
from storms / tidal activity and constantly
shifting sands. Piletech are mastering the
site and delivering the programme of work.
The project requires the removal of
the existing failed rock basket structure,
the construction of 700 grout piles,
remediation of the existing sea wall
and the establishment of a new capped
wall at the base.
ThyssenKrupp Steelcom have worked
with
SFL/ Piletech to supply the KL 3/4 steel sheet piles
for a portion of the temporary cofferdam on the
seaward side of the project and have recently
supplied the new ABI 13/16 Mobilram fitted for grout
piling to supplement piling capacity. The ABI
13/16 Mobilram is ideal for this sort of project
with its high torque, telescopic mast and powerful,
stable base unit.
The KL 3/4 is also ideally suited to sand based
applications offering a highly economical solution
with a section modulus of 276 cm , width of 700mm
and weight of 45.2 kg/m of wall.
