Bauma defies economic crisis and expands for 2010
19-25 April 2010, Munich Germany

Another exciting year for the construction plant sector is expected in 2010. And Bauma, the world’s largest trade fair for this branch, is anticipating this.

With more than 500,000sqm of exhibition floor space, Bauma is by far the largest and certainly the most impressive trade fair in the world. No trade fair in this sector can offer more, no fair is more international.  All the market leaders and key players are present, all innovations in all branches are on the show.

The halls and outdoor areas are already fully booked and there are plans to even make more spaced available. ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik (our parent company) has reserved 600 sqm to demonstrate its product portfolio. Five (5) representatives from ThyssenKrupp Steelcom will be attending this exciting event.

Figures from 2007 promise a superlative event in Munich in 2010:
More floor space
Another 40,000 sqm in 2007 – an increase of 8%

More exhibitors
A total of 3002 exhibitors from 49 countries turned Bauma 2007 into the big event  in the construction sector. There was a general increase here of 7%, although the share of international exhibitors only rose by 12% - to a total of 55%. That underlines impressively the outstanding international significance of Bauma and at the same time, shows that the building boom in many parts of the world is continuing.

More visitors
In the light of the above figures it was not surprising that the number of visitors also rose – by 20%, to half a million decision-makers and potential customers from 191 countries. The number of international visitors climbed to 155,000, a rise of 35%. Turkey, India, Poland, Russia, and the USA all had growth rates exceeding 100%.
